I did finally manage to post some pictures on this blog, though it has been difficult.
We had to wake up at some ungodly hour this morning, so as to be at the airport at 7 am, since our plane left at 10 am. I forced Paul to eat the last of his muesli for breakfast, so that I didn't have to explain to Canadian Customs what muesli was.
Los Angeles airport doesn't have wonderful shops, which surprised me. I suppose I am used to Heathrow where you can browse for hours and look at all the expensive things you have no intention of buying.
When we took off, Paul had a window seat, and took some interesting pictures of Los Angeles from above.
It was a cloudless day, so he was able to look down on the Rockies and see all the snow.
There was also snow on the prairies, and it looked as if it was quite thick.
I was quite surprised when the airline didn't serve any food, though you could buy a chicken sandwich or a chicken salad. Unfortunately, they offered this at 11 am, when neither of us was very hungry. The flight was under 5 hours, so I don't know if it was because they don't serve food on short flights, or because they apparently went bankrupt about 10 days ago.
When we arrived in Toronto, there was no snow! There is some out in the rural areas, but not a lot, and it isn't very deep. It is very cold though, below freezing. And we have come from temperatures of over 30 degrees C which, because of the humidity, felt like over 40 degrees C. So it is a bit of a shock to the system!
Anyway, we seem to be a bit exhausted, and far from sure what day it is, let alone what time it is, so we are sleeping quite a bit.
